The Great Reset

2020 Art as Catharsis

Intended as a loose sequel to their sophomore release 'XXXX Bitter Irony', 'The Great Reset' continues the meta-narrative of their protagonist; coming to terms with his brutal murdering of a second-rate Australian jazz trio, the feelings of regret and grief and the desire to reset the game and play again. Illustrated by MMG resident artist Chloe McAlister, 'The Great Reset' takes Milton's extreme psychological imbalance and cuts it into easy to digest pieces!

“Milton Man Gogh are a highly talented group but what they do is not about technical wizardry. They’re taking what they know and using it to make something that is theirs. It’s something they share and, much like with prior releases, The Great Reset shows that what they do is worth experiencing.” (Ezekiel Rodofili, CultureEater)

Pub With no Ear

2020 Art As Catharsis

Pub With No Ear - A tune composed and recorded in July of 2019 before Andrew went back to The Netherlands to continue his study,

We never planned on releasing this tune as it was a last minute, learn in the studio, record and forget about it kind of thing. Warts and all, we really like it.

In light of what was happening in the world in that moment and with the cancellation of our tour, we feel sharing it with you all is right.

Hope you enjoy.

How to be Big and Small (at the Same Time)

2019 Art As Catharsis

Milton Man Gogh’s second full-length album, “How to be Big and Small (At the Same Time)” serves as a multi-layered perspective and powerful manifestation of the band’s philosophy and sound; striking a balance between the precise and expressive, serious and ridiculous.

Featuring special guest performances from award-winning Australian improvisers Kristin Berardi (vocals) and Toby Wren (guitar), this latest offering from the experimental trio is “a measured yet fun and crazed experimental jazz outing…their most compelling work thus far.” (Alex Sievers, Kill Your Stereo)

XXXX Bitter Irony

 2018 Art As Catharsis

XXXX Bitter Irony – a virtuosic experimental jazz record with hints of prog, metal, deconstructionism and metre all in one.  An inebriated Cerberus style exploration of Milton Man Gogh’s heavier side, the EP features one composition from each member of the band. “Whilst we feel that it compliments our debut album Stress to Impress, we have taken the overall themes and sounds, given them some Goulburn Gatorade and let them loose in National Tiles.” - Andrew Saragossi

“Needless to say that whatever wild calculations Australia’s greatest avant-bogan jazz trio are throwing into their music, they’re throwing them in there perfectly.” (Lachlan Dale, AAC)

Stress To Impress

2017 Art As Catharsis

Milton Man Gogh's Debut Album, “Stress To Impress”, is the amalgamation of the core influences from each of the members; jazz, prog, contemporary classical and metal. The 8 song epic features compositions from each member varying across a wide range of sounds and styles within the experimental jazz idiom.

The release saw MMG become one of three finalists for the Young Australian Jazz Artist of the Year award at the 2018 Australian Jazz Awards (“The Bells”).  The group also received a highly commended award for the album at the 2018 Queensland Music Awards in the jazz category and their debut single “Fork (in a World of Soup)” the lead single from STI was voted #75 on the 4zzz Hot 100 of 2017 (the only instrumental track to make the list)
